The Black Student Union will host a door decorating competition on February 12 to promote Black History Month. Black History Month is celebrated to acknowledge the impact of African Americans on the United States.

Teachers can sign up with Mrs. Berumen or Saira Khan. Classrooms will have to come up with ideas to decorate their door relating to Black History Month, based on famous African American. BSU suggested doors include facts, dates, and information about the figure. The information included on the door will be as part of a scavenger hunt the next week, that is open to all students. Winners of the scavenger hunt will receive two movie passes.

Saira Khan, president of BSU will judge who has the best door out of those participating. The winner of the door competition will win a class pizza party.
