Chino High’s Wind Ensemble and Chorale Tour the District

The Chino 77th Cavalry’s Wind Ensemble and Chorale traveled to three of Chino High School’s feeder schools on December 6th and performed pieces from their annual Holiday Concert selection.

The call time for the groups was 6:44 a.m., to allow loading, set up, and travel time while being on schedule for their first presentation held at Magnolia Jr. High School during first and second periods.

At 10:15 a.m. Howard Cattle Elementary School hosted the groups. Afterwards, the performers purchased a lunch from one of the surrounding restaurants.

The final performance took place at Woodcrest Jr High and began at 1 p.m.

Both the band and choir were in full concert attire, despite the inclement weather and temperatures that stayed in the low 50’s throughout the day. The participants were back at Chino by the time school ended, and it was pouring rain. According to one of the students, it was a slightly hectic process unloading performers, instruments, and equipment in the rain, then setting up for a concert rehearsal directly afterwards.
