Wildfires Delay Cal State Application Deadline

California State Universities’(CSU) office of admissions moved the deadline for applications to December 15 due to the devastating wildfires.

The news was sent out to all high schools to spread the information. Even though the wildfires have stopped, the CSU system said, “The wildfires across California are contained, but they impacted many CSU campuses, faculty, staff, and students.”

The deadline for the application has moved from November 30 to December 15, but the application fee of $55 has not changed and is still required. CSU is the only college system that moved the deadline.

This year’s California wildfires have been the most destructive and deadliest. There was a death toll of 85 and 11 people remain missing. With many losing their homes and loved ones, it was a necessary decision to move the deadline.
