This past Friday, October 26th the Law, Justice, and Public Service Academy as well (LJPS) as Culinary and Hospitality Occupations Management Profession (CHOMP) held a preview of possible occupations for incoming freshman.

The event was for 8th graders of our surrounding Junior Highs- Magnolia and Ramona interested in joining LJPS or CHOMP; it also demonstrated the potential careers an Academy student could pursue. The preview was later opened up to any Chino High student during lunch.

Profession stations such as the Army, Police, Fire department, and FBI- to name a few were present talking with middle schoolers about their occupation.

Eighth graders spent time at each station, listened to a brief overview of the job, and moved onto the next station.

The gathering was LJPS and CHOMP’s 4th annual preview. It was ran by LJPS teachers: Mrs. Vara, Mrs. Inglima and Mrs. Legazcue, along with current academy students.

“This has been our best year so far. It’s our most exciting and professional,” said Brandon Castro an LJPS member at the event.
