Chino High School band and pageantry demonstrated their spirit over spring break on their annual trip to Florida. Students left for the east coast at the start of spring break, returning April 2.

Over the course of the trip students visited several parks and museums, performed twice, and were recognized  for their success. The tour consisted of trips to Kennedy Space Center, Disney Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom.

“The whole trip was very memorable for me. I had fun visiting all these places and experiencing new things,” said Isabella Graham, senior in choir.

Chino’s tour choir performed first at a local church event, where they were evaluated by three judges, and later performed at Disney Springs. Symphonic band and pageantry performed for bands from other schools at the backlot of Universal Studios, as well as in a parade on main street at Magic Kingdom. All three groups were awarded second place titles in each of their categories, with Symphonic band receiving an overall highest judge score award.

“I’m really proud of the progress band has made over the years, and it was really fulfilling to place high in our performances,” said Eddie Ponce, senior in choir.

Chino’s music department grew even closer over the course of the trip, making memories that would last for years to come.

“My favorite part of the trip was staying in a hotel with my friends. It brought the group of about 80 people much closer together,” said Isaiah Cornejo, junior in choir.

Along with Chino High, San Francisco, Hawaii, Anaheim, and Florida were also hosted in Florida by the organization World Strides to perform and be judged by groups across the country.
